Tanzania Ranks 102nd Globally in Economic Freedom 2025, Excels in Regulation but Lags in Trade in East Africa

The Fraser Institute’s Economic Freedom of the World 2025 Report ranks Tanzania 102nd globally and 4th in East Africa. Tanzania leads the region in regulation, ranks 2nd in property rights, and performs well in sound money, but continues to struggle with trade openness and the size of government.
